About the Vets "Out of the Rough"
Monday Night Program

A Non-Profit Organization, Helping Long Island Veterans Through Golf & Camaraderie

The Vets “Out of the Rough” is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, affiliated with the Northport Veterans Medical Center. Our organization hosts a Monday Night Program, which has proved to be a great resource to veterans with service-related needs, including, but not limited to PTSD for the past 24 years.

The Monday Night Program is a weekly event that runs from April until late October. Each week, Veterans in need come together to play 9 holes of golf, with a cart. There are fellow veteran mentors present to help them learn golf, or improve their golf skills, while helping them make supportive connections. Following the game, veterans attend a dinner on the deck where stories are told, and memories shared.

There are currently about 50 participants in this program. Our vision, with your help is to make this program and facility grow to accommodate hundreds more veterans now returning from service. Making better the lives of those who gave so much, is a combined effort we all share. Determined people working together can accomplish anything. We are thankful for all support toward our common goal.
